Olympic gold medalist and newly-minted world record holder Hunter Armstrong has officially joined the pro group at the University of California, Berkeley. The former member of Cal's postgraduate training group will now move on to a more advanced level of competition.
Armstrong, who holds the world record in the long course 50-meter backstroke, has an impressive career history. He competed for the United States at the 2020 Olympics and is a two-time Olympian. In the semifinals of the 50-meter backstroke, Armstrong finished tied for second with a time of 24.41 seconds, solidifying his position as one of the top swimmers in the world.
